General Terms and Conditions (GTC)
1. Scope
These General Terms and Conditions (GTC) apply to all participants registering for the Peritoneal Research and Technology Summit (hereinafter referred to as "the Event"), taking place on January 15th – 17th 2025 at the Kongresszentrum in Pontresina, Switzerland.
2. Registration and Confirmation
2.1 Registration Process: Participants can register for the Event through the official online registration form available on the Event website.
2.2 Commitment: By completing the registration form, participants declare their intention to attend the Event and agree to abide by these GTC.
2.3 Confirmation: Upon successful registration, participants will receive an email confirmation. This confirmation constitutes the acceptance of the participant's registration and entry into a binding agreement with the organizer.
3. Payment
3.1 Fees: All registration fees must be paid in full by the deadline specified during the registration process. The Event is non-profit, and fees are utilized exclusively to cover event-related costs.
3.2 Payment Methods: Payment can be made via credit card or bank transfer. Any bank charges or transaction fees are the responsibility of the participant.
3.3 Late Payments: If payment is not received by the deadline, the organizer reserves the right to cancel the registration and deny access to the Event.
4. Cancellation and Refunds
4.1 Cancellation by Participant: Cancellations received in writing via email to [email protected] before December 15th (23:59 CET) will be eligible for a full refund of the registration fee. After this date, no refunds will be issued.
4.2 Substitutions: If a participant is unable to attend, they may transfer their registration to another individual by notifying the organizer in writing before the Event. The substitute participant must meet any eligibility requirements for the Event.
4.3 Cancellation by Organizer: The organizer reserves the right to cancel the Event due to insufficient participants, organizational reasons, or unforeseen circumstances. In such cases, participants will be informed as soon as possible and will receive a full refund of the registration fee. The organizer is not liable for any other expenses incurred by participants.
5. Liability
5.1 Personal Injury and Property Damage: The organizer is not responsible for any personal injury, loss, or damage to personal property that occurs during the Event. Participants are encouraged to arrange their own insurance coverage.
5.2 Event Changes: The organizer reserves the right to make changes to the Event program, speakers, or venue (including transitioning to a remote/online format) if necessary. Any changes will be communicated to participants as soon as possible.
6. Data Protection
6.1 Use of Personal Data: The organizer will process participants' personal data in accordance with applicable data protection laws. Personal data will be used solely for the purposes of organizing and managing the Event and will not be shared with third parties without the participant’s consent.
6.2 Photography and Recording: By attending the Event, participants agree to be photographed or recorded, and these materials may be used by the organizer for promotional purposes.
7. Force Majeure
In the event of circumstances beyond the control of the organizer (e.g., natural disasters, pandemics, government regulations), the Event may be postponed, altered, or canceled. The organizer will inform participants of any such changes as soon as possible. If the Event is canceled, participants will receive a refund of the registration fee. The organizer is not liable for any other costs or losses incurred by participants.
8. Code of Conduct
All participants are expected to behave in a professional and respectful manner during the Event. Harassment, discrimination, or inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated. The organizer reserves the right to take appropriate action, including expulsion from the Event, without refund, against any participant who violates this code of conduct.
9. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These GTC are governed by the laws of the Canton of Bern, Switzerland. Any disputes arising from these GTC or the Event shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Bern, Switzerland.
